Uber Technologies (UBER) is ceasing operations in Nigeria and Uganda, effective immediately, following a review, a company spokesperson said in an email to MT Newswires on Wednesday.
This decision does not impact Uber's operations across the rest of Africa, the spokesperson added.
Multiple media outlets, including Reuters, earlier reported that Uber has shut down operations in Nigeria after 12 years.
