0717 GMT - European equities are mixed in muted early trade. Energy-intensive stocks fall as oil prices climb, though banks and telecoms strengthen. The Europe-wide Stoxx 600 is flat. Germany's DAX loses 0.25% as auto stocks extend losses, with Volkswagen dropping 1.5%. Autos also drag on the French CAC 40--which trades flat--though chip maker STMicroelectronics gains 2.1% while L'Oreal rises 1.3%. London's FTSE 100 falls 0.15% as miners extend falls as a result of slipping metals prices, while oil majors ease the index's losses. Italy's FTSE MIB rises 0.2%, while the Spanish IBEX 35 adds 0.3%. The Dutch AEX is flat as AI-related stocks move higher--ASML adds 0.65%--though CVC Capital falls 2.3%.
