Australian Stocks Fall 0.3% In Morning Trading; REA Group Falls More Than 4%

Stocks in Australia slipped during early trading Tuesday, as the S&P/ASX 200 Benchmark Index dropped 0.32% to 9046.60.

Among local companies with a market cap of at least 15 billion Australian dollars ($10.77 billion), REA Group is the biggest early laggard, dropping more than 4%, followed by shares of Aristocrat Leisure, which declined 1.9%. Shares of Lynas Rare Earths declined 1.6%.

PLS Group is the biggest leader this morning, rising 2.0%, and Santos increased 1.1%. Origin Energy rounds out the top three movers, as shares rose 1.0%.

The U.S dollar weakened 0.2% against the Australian dollar to 1.39 Australian dollars.

In the bond markets, the 10-year Australian government bond yield increased 5.31 basis points to 5.131%.
