CF Industries Stock Touches New Record on Fertilizer Supply Crunch

CF Industries, which makes nitrogen fertilizer, hit its first new record closing high since March today. This marks the company's fifth consecutive winning day; prices rose 11% over this period.
The war in Iran has choked off supplies of liquefied natural gas, or LNG, which is used to produce nitrogen fertilizers. U.S. based CF has benefitted from cheap and abundant domestic natural gas, helping it to keep its input costs low compared with those of global competitors.
