Lingering Heat Supports U.S. Natural Gas Futures

1005 ET - U.S. natural gas futures are higher with hot weather across much of the country supporting power-sector demand. Late summer air-conditioning demand remains high for two-thirds of the U.S., Dennis Kissler of BOK Financial says in a note. "While the near-term fundamentals are not necessarily bullish, they are less bearish, which looks to be trying to carve out a seasonal low in prices." Nymex natural gas is up 1.5% at $2.946/mmBtu. A close above $2.911 would turn the trend bullish targeting the $3.012 area, Kissler adds.
