Taiwan Ministry OKs NT$9.8 Billion Investment by Lam Research

Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs' Investment Commission on Monday approved six major investment cases, including a NT$9.84 billion investment by U.S. semiconductor equipment supplier Lam Research to increase capital in Taiwan Kolin Technology.
Lam Research's investment will support research and development and design of key manufacturing equipment required for advanced semiconductor chip manufacturing processes, according to the commission.
The commission also approved two overseas and foreign investment cases totaling about NT$12.8 billion, it said.
