Southern Cross Gold Consolidated (ASX:SX2) intersected high-grade gold and antimony during drilling at its Sunday Creek project in Victoria, showing an increase in grade at depth in Apollo and extending the project to its furthest eastern point to date, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.
Drilling returned 0.6 meters at 993 grams per tonne (g/t) gold equivalent (AuEq) from almost 809 meters deep, 5.1 meters at 27 g/t AuEq, including 2.6 meters at 51 g/t AuEq from 261 meters and only 144 meters below surface, along with an antimony assay of almost 33%, the filing said.
Results are pending from 72 holes, including 11 holes actively being drilled and three abandoned holes, per the filing.
Shares fell nearly 6% in midday trade Wednesday.
