Synertec (ASX:SOP) secured a contract with Santos (ASX:STO) for the Moomba Central optimization project, to manufacture and supply a powerhouse energy system at Santos' flagship Moomba energy infrastructure precinct in South Australia, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.
Synertec will manufacture, supply, and commission two six megawatt-hour powerhouse units, including associated step-up transformers. The delivery of the battery energy storage systems, transformers, commissioning spares, and operational spares is scheduled for the first half of fiscal 2028, with commissioning activities to follow.
Project value is around AU$6 million.
The broader optimization project plans to replace seven ageing gas-driven compressor stations with a single remotely operated, electrically driven compression hub, supported by new infrastructure and additional power generation capacity.
