Materials Down After Middle East Clashes - Materials Roundup

Producers of metals, grains and other raw materials fell as clashes in the Middle East spurred inflation concerns.

Gold futures, which surged early in 2026 due to hopes of a Federal Reserve rate cut, retreated, cutting year-to-date gains to 2.4%.

Refrigerant maker Solstice Advanced Materials and specialty-chemicals maker Element Solutions called off their $12 billion merger deal, shareholder opposition.

Swedish miner Boliden agreed to buy a majority stake in Nexa Resources for around $1.31 billion.
