Lindian Resources (ASX:LIN) secured exclusive access to 13,389 tonnes of high-heavy rare earth element stockpile material at Aktau, Kazakhstan, comprising 7,549 tonnes ready for transport and a further 5,840 tonnes requiring drying, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.

The agreement also grants a 12-month exclusive pathway to an additional 15,000 to 20,000 tonnes of feedstock without requiring any upfront cash payment, per the filing.

The company is assessing the material for potential production of a mixed heavy rare earth carbonate containing dysprosium, terbium and yttrium, providing exposure to high-value, supply-constrained markets, the filing said.

The company could process Aktau feed at its SARECO facility alongside or independently of Kangankunde concentrate, subject to testwork and approvals, creating an integrated neodymium-praseodymium and heavy rare earths value chain supported by existing rail infrastructure, the filing added.
