Stocks to Watch: PG&E, Intel, Chevron

PG&E $(PCG)$: Shares of the California utility sank 8% premarket after lawmakers over the weekend introduced wildfire legislation that left out Gov. Gavin Newsom's proposal to block insurance companies from suing utilities for wildfire-related claims.

Intel (INTC), Nvidia (NVDA), Broadcom (AVGO): Shares of chip makers inched higher premarket, on track to recover some of the losses recorded at the end of last week.

Aon $(AON)$: The insurance broker and consulting firm is nearing an agreement to buy USI Insurance from private-equity giant KKR (KKR) for roughly $17 billion, including debt, the Journal reported. Shares of Aon ticked lower in thin premarket trading, while KKR's shares rose slightly.

Chevron $(CVX)$, ConocoPhillips $(COP)$, Occidental Petroleum $(OXY)$: Shares of energy companies jumped premarket as Brent crude futures surged past $90 a barrel.
