Hua Xia Bank's (SHA:600015) attributable profit fell 18% to 9.37 billion yuan in the first half from 11.5 billion yuan in the year-ago period, according to a Saturday filing with the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
Earnings per share at the bank increased to 0.53 yuan from 0.66 yuan in the prior-year period.
Operating revenue grew 13% year over year to 51.3 billion yuan from 45.5 billion yuan. Net interest income went up 13% to 34.6 billion yuan from 30.6 billion yuan, while net fee and commission income rose 6% year over year to 3.28 billion yuan.
Impairments expanded to 23.6 billion yuan from 14.9 billion yuan. The non-performing loan ratio decreased to 1.50% at the end of the first half from 1.55% at the end of the second half of 2025.
The bank's shares declined 5% during the midday break on Monday.
