UniFirst Chief Operating Officer to Resign

UniFirst's No. 2 executive, Kelly Rooney, is leaving the supplier of uniforms and workwear, which is being acquired by larger rival Cintas.

UniFirst on Friday said Rooney is resigning as executive vice president and chief operating officer pursue other career opportunities, adding that she will leave the Wilmington, Mass., company in mid to late September.

Rooney joined UniFirst as chief operating officer in September 2024.

UniFirst said a pair of senior vice presidents of operations, Steve Chikerotis and Brian Vollant, will oversee its operations on an interim basis.

Cintas has said it expects to complete the acquisition of UniFirst by the end of the year.
