Grand Theft Auto VI is almost here, and Take-Two Interactive Software stock is getting a boost.

Shares of Take-Two, the parent company of GTA VI's publisher Rockstar Games, rose 2.6% to $239.93 on Friday after the release of the videogame's much-anticipated third trailer. GTA VI is still set to release Nov. 19.

The new 26-minute trailer-which made its debut exclusively on Netflix Thursday afternoon, followed by a broad release on YouTube that evening-features PlayStation 5 gameplay showcasing a series of characters navigating the Miami-inspired Vice City.

Bryan Smilek, a J.P. Morgan analyst, said GTA VI's new trailer will further support interest in the game. He also said tapping into Netflix's "extensive reach and subscriber base" could lead to greater preorders. He reiterated an Overweight rating on Take-Two with a December 2027 target price of $310.

On Friday morning, Google Search trends for "GTA VI" skyrocketed 200% to more than 200,000 searches.

Morgan Stanley analyst Matt Cost said he expects "investor excitement" over the game to push the share price higher.

In the past, big videogame releases have sparked investor interest, especially during the final three to six months of marketing, Cost said. In an analysis of the past four major game launches, game publisher stocks got a 13% boost in the final three months before launch, he added.

The new trailer follows investor concerns over the game's monthslong delay. GTA VI was initially supposed to launch last fall, before Take-Two delayed the push to May 2026, and, most recently, to Nov. 19. The last time users got their hands on a new GTA installment was back in 2013.
