NZX Midday Sector Update: Energy Minerals Stocks Jump, Utilities Sector Struggles

Energy minerals stocks advanced nearly 8% at midday Friday.

Channel Infrastructure NZ (NZE:CHI) gained almost 8% in recent trade upon securing a 15-year contract with oil giant BP to provide additional jet and diesel fuel storage at Marsden Point.

On the flip side, the utilities sector struggled, shedding 1%.

Meridian Energy (NZE:MEL) shares were down almost 1% in recent trade.
