JPMorgan (JPM) is facing new civil-rights charges in a federal court from a former banker who in April alleged racial discrimination and harassment in the bank's leveraged-finance team, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday.

Chirayu Rana has accused Lorna Hajdini of violating civil rights and names three additional former JPMorgan colleagues as defendants, the report said.

A JPMorgan spokesperson told the WSJ that the bank doesn't believe there is any merit in the claims. The bank came to its conclusion after conducting an internal investigation, which it said the former banker who made the allegations refused to participate in, according to the report.

JPMorgan didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
