CSPC Pharmaceutical Group Limited (CSPC Pharma) announced that its investigational SYH2092 injection has obtained approval from China’s National Medical Products Administration to enter clinical trials.

SYH2092 is described as a highly potent amylin receptor agonist engineered for enhanced agonistic activity and an extended in-vivo half-life through optimized fatty-acid modification. The design aims to translate into durable weight-loss efficacy with a manageable tolerability profile.

In preclinical evaluations, SYH2092 demonstrated: • Higher receptor agonistic activity than several amylin analogues currently in development. • Strong weight-reduction effects and prolonged maintenance of weight loss. • Synergistic efficacy when combined with CSPC Pharma’s proprietary GLP-1/GIP dual-biased agonist, increasing both the magnitude and duration of weight reduction.

According to the company, the candidate has the potential to deliver meaningful clinical benefits in weight management for obese patients and to improve glycaemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
