On August 28, the Huzhou City Air Terminal (Nantaihu Villa) of Nanjing Lukou International Airport officially commenced operations, marking its debut as the first city air terminal established in Zhejiang Province. This milestone signifies a pivotal step for Eastern Airport Group in its cross-provincial expansion strategy under the "15th Five-Year Plan," effectively extending the aviation service reach of Nanjing Airport into the core region of northern Zhejiang.
Developed collaboratively by Eastern Airport Group and the Huzhou Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau, the terminal represents an innovative fusion of aviation services and cultural tourism industries. A city air terminal functions as a facility that relocates certain airport services and terminal functions to surrounding cities, offering passengers greater convenience. Since establishing its first city air terminal in 2006, Nanjing Lukou International Airport has built an extensive service network spanning multiple regions.
With a focus on proactive service delivery, the newly launched Huzhou terminal is strategically situated in the business district on the first floor of the Nantaihu Villa Hotel. Designed as an exclusive business aviation lounge, it integrates three core functions: real-time flight information inquiry, travel procedures handling, and cultural and creative product exhibitions. Travelers can now complete airport check-in procedures directly in Huzhou and take dedicated shuttle services to reach Lukou Airport with ease.
Looking ahead, the terminal aims to consolidate resources across air tickets, accommodation, scenic spots, and ground transportation to introduce a comprehensive "Aviation + Cultural Tourism" one-stop travel package. By continuously enhancing the cross-provincial air-ground intermodal network and strengthening the "Aviation + Cultural Tourism" ecosystem, it seeks to promote resource connectivity and market sharing between Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, injecting renewed aviation vitality into the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta and collaborative growth between Nanjing and Huzhou.
