CSPC PHARMA (01093) has announced that its developed SYH2092 injection has received approval from China's National Medical Products Administration to proceed with clinical trials within the country.

The product is an amylin receptor agonist. By optimizing its agonistic activity, it is designed to deliver enhanced efficacy while maintaining a manageable tolerability profile. Furthermore, the incorporation of fatty acid modifications extends the drug's half-life in the body, potentially offering sustained weight-loss benefits.

Preclinical studies indicate that, compared with several amylin analogs currently in clinical development, this product demonstrates superior target agonistic activity, significant weight-reduction effects, and prolonged weight-loss maintenance. Additionally, when combined with the group's self-developed glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1)/glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptor dual biased agonist, it exhibits synergistic weight-loss effects, increasing the magnitude of weight reduction while prolonging the duration of therapeutic action.
