On August 28, Mayor Zhang Hongfu conducted an on-site inspection in Hangjinhou Banner, focusing on the rectification of prominent issues in elderly care services, high-standard farmland construction, agricultural disaster relief, and production safety.
At the Jiude Elderly Apartment and Jiahe Rehabilitation Care Center, Mayor Zhang visited residents' rooms, the central control room, emergency shelters, and dining halls. He reviewed facility operations, meal assistance, medical care, custodial services, and fire safety protocols, while also inquiring about the daily lives of the elderly. He listened to progress reports on the centralized rectification of elderly care services. He emphasized that elderly care is a vital livelihood project that must address the growing needs of an aging population. He called for a strategic layout of care infrastructure, improved service offerings, and diversified options for seniors.
Mayor Zhang stressed the importance of tackling issues uncovered during the campaign against misconduct and corruption affecting the public. He urged authorities to proactively identify and rectify problems, resolutely cracking down on reduced services, illegal charges, favoritism, and other violations. This would standardize the management of care facilities and ensure the elderly enjoy a secure and dignified life. He also reminded local authorities and relevant departments to maintain a proactive and cautious mindset, enhancing their political responsibility to ensure production safety and protect people's lives and property.
At the high-standard farmland construction site in Hongqi Village, Manhui Town, Mayor Zhang reviewed the project's construction standards, long-term maintenance plans, yield improvement goals, and integration of water and fertilizer systems. He discussed the challenges encountered during construction, emphasizing the need to focus on key areas such as bidding procedures, fund allocation, and project quality. He called for resolute efforts to address issues, ensuring these farmlands are built, managed, and utilized effectively to deliver tangible benefits to farmers.
In Minfu Village, Mayor Zhang inspected fields affected by recent flooding, assessing crop damage and drainage operations. He asked about the preventative measures taken and the status of agricultural insurance claims. He urged officials to expedite the improvement of irrigation and drainage infrastructure, provide scientific guidance for self-recovery efforts, and fully leverage policies like agricultural insurance to minimize losses. He also encouraged large-scale farmers to remain confident in adopting professional and technological approaches, developing efficient and specialized agriculture suited to local conditions, and leading fellow villagers toward increased income and prosperity.
