At the 2026 interim results conference held on August 28, Bank of China President Zhang Hui stated that the bank has fully accomplished its operational and management targets for the first half of the year, further enhancing the quality of its development. He attributed this success to the bank's proactive implementation of decisions and deployments made by the central government and its efforts to seize opportunities presented by the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
Addressing dividends, Zhang emphasized the bank's commitment to creating value through prudent operations and rewarding shareholder trust with steady returns. Since its listing, Bank of China has distributed cumulative cash dividends exceeding one trillion yuan, maintaining a high payout ratio of 30% for many years. At this historic juncture marking the 20th anniversary of its listing, the board has proposed increasing the interim cash dividend payout ratio for ordinary shares to 31% for 2026, with a dividend of 1.19 yuan per ten shares, representing an 8.8% year-on-year increase.
