MedBot Board Reshuffle: Yu Liu and Min Liang Step Down; Shareholders to Decide on Jonathan W. Chen and Qing Hui as New Non-Executive Directors

Bulletin Express
Aug 27

Shanghai MicroPort MedBot (Group) Co., Ltd. (MedBot) announced a significant board reshuffle dated 27 August 2026. Executive Director Yu Liu resigned with immediate effect, while Non-Executive Director Min Liang will leave the board at the conclusion of the forthcoming Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM). Both departures are attributed to the need to devote more time to other business commitments, and neither outgoing director has any disagreement with the board.

The board has nominated Jonathan W. Chen and Qing Hui as non-executive directors, subject to shareholder approval at the EGM. If approved, the two will serve terms of up to three years and will not receive remuneration from the group.

Jonathan W. Chen, aged 51, brings over 29 years of medical-device experience. He currently serves as Rotating Chief Executive Officer of MicroPort Scientific Corporation (MPSC), MedBot’s controlling shareholder. Chen previously led international operations and investor relations at MPSC and held senior roles at Angiotech Pharmaceuticals as well as investment-banking positions at Credit Suisse, Alex. Brown & Sons, and Deutsche Bank. His direct interests include 2.68 million underlying MPSC shares via options, 0.74 million MPSC shares held through a wholly-owned company, US$0.50 million in MPSC convertible bonds (convertible into 0.31 million shares), and 56,036 underlying H-shares in MedBot.

Qing Hui, aged 56, is currently First Vice President of Organization Ability at MPSC, having joined the company in 2019 after 12 years in senior human-resources roles at Boston Scientific across multiple regions. Hui also has more than a decade of prior experience in banking and insurance. Her holdings comprise 1.81 million underlying MPSC shares via options and 0.21 million MPSC shares.

Detailed information on the proposed appointments will be provided in a circular to be dispatched to shareholders ahead of the EGM.
