Shares of AIM VACCINE (06660) climbed more than 17% during intraday trading, with the stock last up 15.79% at HK$1.87, recording a turnover of HK$1.94 million. The rally follows Moderna's landmark Phase III success for its mRNA cancer vaccine, which has ignited momentum across the global mRNA sector.
AIM VACCINE boasts a robust mRNA cancer vaccine pipeline, strategically mirroring Moderna's approach with an mRNA melanoma vaccine, while also advancing candidates for cervical cancer (therapeutic HPV mRNA vaccine), liver cancer (therapeutic mRNA vaccine), and lung cancer (therapeutic mRNA vaccine). Among these, the personalized mRNA cervical cancer therapeutic vaccine is poised to enter clinical trial application shortly.
According to Zhang Fan, Vice President of AIM VACCINE, the company has dedicated nearly a decade to cancer vaccine development and stands as the earliest domestic player to enter the mRNA cancer vaccine arena. Since 2017, it has deepened its expertise in the mRNA technology platform, securing independent patents in the field earlier than most domestic peers. The company simultaneously pursues two major tracks: mRNA cancer vaccines and mRNA preventive vaccines.
To date, AIM VACCINE has obtained 14 clinical trial approvals for mRNA vaccines both domestically and internationally, making it the company with the highest number of mRNA vaccine clinical approvals in China. Notably, its mRNA shingles vaccine and mRNA RSV vaccine have already received approval to conduct clinical trials in both China and the United States.
