At the 2026 interim results briefing held on August 28, an investor raised concerns about the decelerating revenue growth at Bank Of Chengdu Co., Ltd. in recent years. In response, Xu Dengyi, the bank's Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman, President, and Chief Compliance Officer, elaborated on the underlying factors. He noted that during the first half of 2026, the bank recorded operating revenue of 12.776 billion yuan, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 4.13%, with the growth trajectory of revenue aligning closely with that of profit expansion.
Xu attributed the narrowing revenue growth primarily to the persistent compression of net interest margins, a trend that mirrors broader industry dynamics. However, he emphasized that the bank's overall revenue growth rate remains at a comparatively superior level within the peer group. Looking ahead, Xu outlined that Bank Of Chengdu will sharpen its focus on high-quality development to ensure sustainable revenue generation.
The bank's strategic roadmap encompasses three key pillars. First, it aims to establish reasonable and sustainable growth targets, solidifying a stable foundation that fosters an environment conducive to capability building and momentum cultivation. Second, it will deepen the coordinated management of assets and liabilities through enhanced cost control on liabilities, stabilization of asset yield levels, and implementation of refined pricing mechanisms, thereby forming a consolidated force in managing interest rate spreads. Third, it intends to broaden coverage of priority client segments, providing robust foundational support for business advancement and long-term resilience.
These initiatives are designed to navigate the challenging rate environment while positioning the bank favorably to sustain its competitive edge in revenue performance relative to market counterparts.
