Shenzhen's inaugural cross-border e-commerce service hub, centered on compliance, was officially launched in Bantian Subdistrict, Longgang District. The facility, named Shenzhen Cross-Border E-Commerce Service Port, marks a strategic milestone for the city's digital trade sector.

The opening ceremony coincided with the "Good Products from Longgang, Global Reach" cross-border sourcing fair, held at the Lehui Center. On the very first day of the event, intent orders surpassed 10 million yuan, injecting substantial momentum into the high-quality development of Shenzhen's cross-border e-commerce industry.

The event kicked off on September 1, drawing over 2,000 attendees and more than 1,000 cross-border e-commerce sellers from the Longgang area. Source factories from Beijing, Jiangxi, Guangzhou, Dongguan, and Zhongshan participated, with more than 70% of exhibition booths receiving cooperation inquiries on-site. Exhibits spanned hot-selling categories such as 3C digital products, smart home appliances, apparel, bags, and pet supplies.

The service hub is jointly spearheaded by the Longgang District Commerce Bureau and Bantian Subdistrict Office, with professional operations managed by the Shenzhen Institute of Standards and Technology and venue support from Lehui Center. Its core mission is to address compliance gaps that cross-border enterprises commonly encounter, offering an integrated suite of services including policy briefings, compliance training, standards development, AI-driven digital empowerment, and brand incubation for overseas expansion.

Wu Xuyi, Deputy Director of the E-Commerce Research Institute at the Shenzhen Institute of Standards and Technology, highlighted Bantian's robust e-commerce foundation, where over 90% of the more than 1,000 local market entities are cross-border e-commerce firms. Bantian is positioning itself as the nation's leading cross-border e-commerce street. Wu emphasized that compliance is the lifeblood of sustainable growth in this sector, noting that many businesses have faced operational setbacks due to oversight in this area. The hub's primary objective is to guide companies toward compliant expansion pathways that enable global market access while maintaining regulatory adherence.

The sourcing fair featured 64 standard booths, with procurement teams from Shenzhen's top cross-border e-commerce players including Aukey, Sailvan, Yibai, and Xizhiyue actively scouting for products. In the 3C digital zone, smart children's watches drew significant attention, with sellers receiving more than ten waves of buyers within half an hour and adding over twenty prospective clients. Jinpeng Robotics showcased lightweight exoskeleton walking assistance devices that captivated attendees. The company, backed by a research team with over a decade of exoskeleton development experience and more than 50 proprietary patents, has developed models weighing as little as 2 kilograms that assist individuals with mobility challenges in daily movement, presenting substantial overseas market potential.

A closed-door precision procurement session enabled one-on-one negotiations between buyers and Longgang manufacturers. Leveraging demand analysis from the 1688 platform, the session facilitated direct discussions on product pricing, capacity delivery, and collaboration models, efficiently converting multiple cooperation intentions into concrete agreements. Bantian, the most concentrated hub for cross-border e-commerce in Longgang, hosts numerous industry leaders whose product categories rank among the top globally. It also serves as Shenzhen's AI industry cluster and core HarmonyOS ecosystem district, forming a comprehensive cross-border e-commerce chain that spans platform operations, logistics warehousing, cross-border payments, and compliance marketing. The area exemplifies the "upstairs is the upstream, downstairs is the downstream" industrial synergy model.

A representative from Bantian Subdistrict stated that the establishment of the Shenzhen Cross-Border E-Commerce Service Port signals a transition from scale-driven expansion to quality-focused advancement for the local industry. Looking ahead, the Longgang District Commerce Bureau and Bantian Subdistrict will continue organizing industry-specific events and industrial belt visits, further strengthening the supply-demand channels between manufacturers and traders. These efforts aim to empower local brands to compete globally and reinforce Shenzhen's reputation as a premier cross-border e-commerce destination.
