China's Commerce Ministry held its regular press conference on the 27th, where spokesperson Huang Ling addressed questions regarding the US government's consideration of an additional 7.5% tariff on imports from China.

In her response, Huang stated that the US has initiated a Section 301 investigation against 16 economies, including China, under the pretext of "overcapacity." She characterized this move as a typical act of unilateralism and protectionism that politicizes trade issues, and expressed firm opposition from the Chinese side.

China will continue to closely monitor and thoroughly assess any subsequent actions taken by the US, while reserving the right to take all necessary measures in response.
