A female resident in Wuhan has reported enduring months of explicit text message harassment from an anonymous sender, who was later identified as a security guard within her residential complex, with her underage daughter also being targeted. The police are now investigating the matter.

Zhang Ting (a pseudonym) tearfully sought help on June 11th, stating that she and her daughter had been subjected to long-term harassment by a stranger. An investigation revealed the perpetrator to be a security guard at their estate, and it was discovered that several other female residents had also been harassed.

The security captain for the involved property management company, Huizhimei, stated that the police have been notified and the guard's access permissions to the complex have been revoked to prevent further trouble for residents. On the afternoon of the 11th, the man in question was taken away by police for investigation.

Zhang Ting described how the harassment began in mid-May with an anonymous delivery of milk tea to her door. After she refused it, she started receiving text messages from an anonymous number expressing admiration. When she and her husband tried to confront the sender with a warning, the harassment intensified.

The messages became more frequent and explicit, arriving at all hours, including the middle of the night. The harasser demonstrated knowledge of her name, apartment number, and even her home Wi-Fi network name. Zhang Ting lived in fear, keeping a wooden stick by her door after experiencing late-night knocks with no one there.

After sharing her ordeal in the residents' group chat, Zhang Ting learned that at least two other female homeowners had received similar harassing messages. The anonymous sender had even taunted one resident by sending a photo of an ID card, claiming to have multiple identities.

The situation took a more distressing turn when Zhang Ting, during an interview, broke down upon recalling that her daughter, who is preparing for senior high school entrance exams, had mentioned a young security guard professing feelings for her. A check of her daughter's phone revealed the same guard had been sending the girl messages since April, proposing a relationship and making inappropriate comments despite her rejections.

Further investigation of social media led Zhang Ting to identify the harasser as a specific security guard surnamed Li, whom she regularly saw in the complex. Confronted in a private WeChat group, Li admitted to messaging Zhang Ting's daughter but denied harassing other residents. He claimed the phone number was shared with friends and mocked Zhang Ting's parenting.

The property management company initially stated they would handle the matter when the guard returned to work. However, following media inquiries, a company representative confirmed that after learning of the incident, they contacted the police, and the man was taken into custody on the afternoon of the 11th.

The Fuxing Huiyu Shuian Xingcheng complex is managed by Huizhimei Life Service Group. Public records show that several branches of this property group in Wuhan have faced penalties in recent years for fire safety violations and equipment issues.
