Shares of Asian pharmaceutical companies could see market movement following the Trump administration’s announcement of a new drug pricing agreement with nine biotech and pharmaceutical firms. Under the terms of this deal, these companies have agreed to provide discounts on outpatient medications for state Medicaid programs. The procurement pricing for each state will be benchmarked against the overseas selling prices of these companies.

Australia’s biopharmaceutical giant CSL stated in a written declaration that it does not anticipate any significant material impact on its fiscal year 2027 results stemming from this agreement.
