On August 25, Mayor Zhang Ke chaired a special meeting to review the progress of the brain-computer interface (BCI) industry's development. During the session, he responded on-site to the development demands of key enterprises, assigned tasks one by one, analyzed existing problems and shortcomings, and outlined the next phase of priority work.

Mayor Zhang pointed out that the BCI industry is a future industry highlighted in the national "15th Five-Year Plan" outline, one of the three future industries Zhenjiang is focusing on cultivating, and a new track where Zhenjiang has the foundation and opportunity to achieve development breakthroughs. Relevant departments and districts should strengthen confidence, dare to be pioneers, put action first, and strive hard to seize the critical window period for the accelerated implementation of BCI technology. Following the unified deployment of the municipal party committee and government, both government and enterprises should work together to ensure the implementation of various measures, effectively promoting the growth and strengthening of Zhenjiang's BCI industry.

Mayor Zhang emphasized the need to adhere to a goal-oriented and problem-oriented approach, establish a hook-up service mechanism for key enterprises, strengthen coordination between departments and districts, conduct regular scheduling and follow-up, normalize the implementation of the "two lists" tasks, organize supply-demand matching activities, and continuously improve the quality and efficiency of enterprise services. He stressed the importance of strengthening project attraction by accelerating the completion of the BCI industry's "five maps and six lists," establishing an industrial development consultation and judgment mechanism, and leveraging market resources such as application scenarios to carry out precise investment promotion around extending, supplementing, and strengthening the industrial chain. He also called for amplifying the leading advantages of 慧创医疗 (HuiChuang Medical) as the chain leader, and conducting targeted attraction of upstream and downstream supporting enterprises in areas such as flexible electrodes, BCI chips, and software systems, to attract enterprises with strong innovation capabilities, a focus on niche markets, and good growth potential to settle in Zhenjiang, achieving deep linkage and coordinated development across the industrial chain.

To accelerate scenario application, Mayor Zhang urged opening and cultivating more application scenarios in healthcare, elderly care, and education, promoting the construction of BCI clinical trial scenarios in municipal tertiary hospitals, and speeding up the promotion and application in brain disease screening, prevention and diagnosis, and assistance for the elderly and children.

Mayor Zhang required relevant departments to promptly formulate supportive policies, accelerate the establishment of a BCI industry development fund, and research and introduce several measures to promote industry-university-research collaboration in the BCI field. Efforts should focus on cultivating technology enterprises and innovation platforms, strengthening pre-registration guidance for medical device products, establishing a BCI professional committee under the Municipal Medical Association, completing the construction of the first batch of community cognitive training activity stations, and fully supporting capable BCI enterprises in their growth and expansion. He also emphasized the need to strengthen safety supervision, improve the security management systems for algorithms and data, and ensure the safe and orderly development of the BCI industry.

Danyang City must shoulder the primary responsibility for promoting the BCI industry's development by forming a professional team, strengthening research and planning, increasing policy support and promotion efforts, and providing all-round services for the industry's high-quality development. Key enterprises should accelerate the establishment and improvement of modern corporate systems, standardize operational management, strengthen independent innovation, stay committed to their main business, and strengthen their real industry to achieve sustainable and healthy development. Municipal Government Secretary-General Dai Weidong attended the meeting.
