The 62-day summer travel rush has officially wrapped up, with Ningbo Airport handling a total of approximately 3.065 million passengers and roughly 21,000 flight movements. Notably, a single-day high of 56,672 passengers was recorded on August 11, setting a new historical peak for the summer period. Despite being impacted by three typhoons throughout the season, the airport maintained smooth and orderly operations through scientific scheduling, dynamic adjustments, and meticulous planning, with daily passenger volume exceeding 50,000 on more than 40 days during the entire summer travel window.

Aviation demand remained exceptionally strong throughout the season, with family trips and student travel dominating the passenger profile. To meet the surging market demand, Ningbo Airport worked closely with airlines to optimize and adjust routes while increasing capacity. On the domestic front, flight frequencies were significantly boosted to popular summer destinations including Dalian, Qingdao, Beijing, Xining, Yinchuan, and Guiyang. Additionally, seasonal services were newly launched or resumed to destinations such as Turpan, Anshun, Datong, Hailar, Liuzhou, and Huizhou, with the Urumqi route operating direct flights for the first time this summer and some services upgraded to wide-body aircraft. Passenger flow data shows that traditional business travel and popular tourist cities continued to lead the rankings, with Guangzhou, Guiyang, Beijing, Chongqing, Qingdao, Shenzhen, Kunming, and Changsha serving as the main pillars of the summer market.

In the international and regional segment, Ningbo Airport added direct passenger services to Kaohsiung and Seoul compared to last year, with 28 flights operated to Kaohsiung and 18 to Seoul, carrying nearly 8,000 passengers in total. The stable operation of these two routes has effectively met business, tourism, and family visit demand between the two sides of the strait and between China and South Korea, while also laying a solid foundation for future expansion of the international and regional route network.

During the summer period, the airport processed nearly 160,000出入境 travelers and 929 international passenger flights. With the continued benefits of visa-free policies, the mix of cross-border travelers has become more diverse, with notable two-way traffic growth. Outbound travel to Indonesia, Thailand, and South Korea saw rising popularity. On the inbound side, thanks to unilateral visa exemptions and the 240-hour transit visa-free policy, arrivals from Thailand, Singapore, and South Korea increased year-on-year by 58.1%, 26.5%, and 25.6%, respectively.

Responding to seasonal travel patterns and passenger needs, Ningbo Airport rolled out a series of thoughtful service initiatives to enhance the overall travel experience. Starting July 1, the airport’s "Licke Zhuan" transfer service was upgraded to include cross-terminal domestic flight connections. This enhancement focuses on removing physical barriers between the two terminals, allowing passengers to avoid redundant check-in, baggage drop-off, and security procedures. Travelers simply use an airside transfer shuttle for cross-terminal movement, with checked luggage transferred simultaneously, significantly improving efficiency and cutting transfer times. During the summer, 261 passengers utilized the new cross-terminal transfer service. Furthermore, the airport continued to refine its unaccompanied minor service, optimizing procedures and strengthening end-to-end accompaniment to safeguard young travelers. From July 1 to August 31, the number of unaccompanied minors surged, with 11,086 children assisted—a 38% increase year-on-year—and a single-day peak of 367, both setting new summer records.
