On August 28, at the 2026 interim results conference, China Life Insurance Company Limited assistant president Lan Yonghong reported that the company has been systematically executing its marketing system reforms throughout the year. These efforts are steadily advancing the professionalization, specialization, and rejuvenation of its individual insurance sales force, with the first half delivering results that met expectations and showing a positive trajectory in team development.
First, the overall size of the individual insurance sales team has remained stable. As of the end of June, the team stood at 607,000 members, an increase of 19,000 from the end of 2025, maintaining the industry's leading position and laying a solid foundation for delivering high-quality services to a broad customer base across various regions. Second, the overall quality and core demographic performance of the team have improved steadily. The proportion of high-performing agents rose 3.6 percentage points year-over-year, while the 13-month retention rate for new recruits improved by 2.7 percentage points. Third, the trend toward a younger workforce has become more pronounced. The share of team members aged 45 and under increased by 3.5 percentage points year-over-year, reflecting significant growth in premium talent acquisition capabilities.
Regarding the construction of new-style teams, Lan noted that the seed evolution pilot program has been carried out smoothly, with all pilot tasks successfully completed. In the second quarter, building on lessons learned from the pilot, the company advanced the development of its Financial Life Planner (FLP) team. This initiative is designed to precisely meet the increasingly diverse and multi-layered insurance needs of clients in key regions, while continuously strengthening diversified sales and service capabilities. Currently, these efforts are progressing well overall.
Lan emphasized that within the company's multi-channel operating framework, each sales team is fully leveraging its professional sales and service expertise to enhance the alignment between sales service offerings and customer demands. Whether it is the traditional individual insurance marketing team, the policy service team, or the FLP team still in its early development stage, all are integral components of the company's holistic multi-channel operations.
