Digging into the "abacus" from the very beginning 鈥?that's the strategy this year at the Fenxi Mining Equipment Repair Plant. By focusing intensely on design optimization, process innovation, and the circular use of waste materials, the plant is eliminating resource waste at the product's origin, effectively turning technical research and development into tangible financial gains. As of the end of July, the entire plant has accumulated total savings of 966,600 yuan.
In the SGZ800/1400 cross-side discharge scraper conveyor retrofit project, technicians optimized the dimensions of the middle trough's baffle and groove side, reducing the upper surface width of the groove side from 380 millimeters to 180 millimeters. Without compromising safety or production, this adjustment saves 54.64 kilograms of raw material per middle trough section, a cumulative saving of 10.71 tons of steel, which is expected to reduce costs by 84,080 yuan.
It's not just about using less material; the processing techniques have also been revolutionized. The Fenxi Mining Equipment Repair Plant has abandoned its old methods, switching to a laser cutting process for the vertical plate structure of equipment cable troughs, paired with an inverted installation method for mushroom-head bolts. This simplifies the production process, eliminating multiple steps for 196 cable trough tasks, such as benchwork marking, drilling, and repeated handling. This has compressed work hours by over 150 and cut labor costs accordingly.
On the front of material consumption reduction, the plant is transforming its stagnant inventory into productive resources. In the Liangdu DSJ100/2×160 (A) downhill belt conveyor project, technical staff collaborated with the material supply center to adapt the design, replacing the original angle steel for the support leg crossbeams with long-overstocked seamless steel pipes. This initiative has utilized 6.6 tons of inventory, freeing up 27,720 yuan in capital.
