On Wednesday, August 28, the "Agricultural Product Wholesale Price 200 Index" registered 115.61, reflecting a decrease of 0.24 points from the previous day's level.

According to monitoring data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the "Vegetable Basket" product wholesale price index also declined, settling at 116.15, which is 0.30 points lower than the prior session.

As of 2:00 PM today, the average wholesale price of pork across national agricultural product markets reached 16.25 yuan per kilogram, marking a slight increase of 0.1% compared to yesterday. Beef prices averaged 68.78 yuan per kilogram, down 0.1%, while mutton fell 0.6% to 65.58 yuan per kilogram. Egg prices remained stable at 10.92 yuan per kilogram, and white-striped chicken rose 0.2% to 17.14 yuan per kilogram.

The average price for the 28 key monitored vegetable varieties stood at 4.57 yuan per kilogram, a decline of 0.2% from the previous day. Among the six major tracked fruits, the average price dropped 0.3% to 6.58 yuan per kilogram.

In the aquatic products sector, crucian carp prices decreased 1.4% to 19.80 yuan per kilogram, while carp prices advanced 0.9% to 14.20 yuan per kilogram. Silver carp experienced a more notable decline of 2.0%, trading at 10.23 yuan per kilogram, and large hairtail fell 1.4% to 41.65 yuan per kilogram.

Among the 46 key varieties monitored in domestic fresh agricultural product wholesale markets today, the top five price gainers compared to yesterday were white radish, Chinese cabbage, green pepper, zucchini, and cauliflower, with increases of 3.0%, 2.2%, 2.1%, 2.0%, and 1.6%, respectively. Conversely, the top five price decliners were lotus root, winter melon, cucumber, silver carp, and watermelon, with reductions of 4.1%, 3.2%, 2.2%, 2.0%, and 1.9%, respectively.
