A new generation of industrial-grade humanoid robot, the "Xiaorui G3," was launched in Hong Kong recently. This robot is designed to match the manual labor capabilities of an adult worker, enabling it to perform heavy-load carrying, material transfer, and precision operation tasks, making it a valuable industrial asset. According to its developer, the "Xiaorui G3" is built on fully self-developed technology from the Hong Kong-based company NineLight Technology.

The product is equipped with a proprietary AI "brain" and a full-body precision force control system, which helps break through the operational bottlenecks of traditional smart devices. With enhanced environmental adaptability and improved operational stability, the robot is suitable for a variety of physical work scenarios across different industries. During the live demonstration at the launch event, the "Xiaorui G3" responded to voice commands, smoothly completing tasks such as moving a 50kg barbell and placing it in a designated spot, with steady posture and fluid motion throughout.

Huang Bingshou, CEO of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, expressed his delight at witnessing a local Hong Kong tech enterprise release new achievements in the fields of embodied intelligence and humanoid robotics. He noted that humanoid robots, as important carriers of embodied intelligence, represent a cutting-edge track that combines multiple disciplines like artificial intelligence and new materials. They are also a key direction for cultivating new productive forces and promoting new industrialization. He expressed hope that NineLight would build on its Hong Kong base and leverage the complete industrial chain of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to help humanoid robots move beyond the laboratory and achieve scale and commercial application.

Lu Yang, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Hong Kong, stated that this new generation of humanoid robots fully demonstrates the solid technical expertise and problem-solving skills of Hong Kong's science and technology innovation teams. He added that Hong Kong has already designated artificial intelligence and advanced manufacturing as key development industries, and is fully committed to building itself into an international innovation and technology center. Xu Zhigen, founder of NineLight Technology, said that Hong Kong is an international financial center and will inevitably become a center for intelligent technology in the future. Leveraging Hong Kong's significant advantages and the SAR government's AI industry policies, the company can efficiently connect with global markets, talent, and capital resources to achieve high-quality, rapid development.

It was also disclosed that NineLight Technology was established at the Hong Kong Science Park and is focused on building an embodied intelligent robot ecosystem. Its wholly-owned subsidiary, NineLight Intelligent, was founded in 2023, focusing on AI robot R&D, production, sales, and vertical industry applications.
