At the fifth anniversary sharing event of Lenovo's Lianmeng public welfare program, the company unveiled its strategy to leverage AI for scalable and sustainable philanthropic efforts, aiming to cultivate a "Lianmeng Public Welfare Forest" with deep AI involvement. Wang Chuandong, Vice President of Lenovo Group and Chief Marketing Officer for China, remarked, "If the first five years were about planting, then starting this year, we want it to grow—into a forest of public welfare with profound AI integration."

Over the past half-decade, the Lianmeng initiative has established a "1+3+N" framework. The Lianmeng Vision project has planted more than 160,000 saxaul trees across the Alxa desert, covering approximately 3,500 mu of sandy terrain and reducing carbon emissions by over 2.95 million kilograms. Meanwhile, the Lianmeng Library program has reached 50 rural primary and secondary schools, benefiting over 100,000 teachers and students, and the Lianmeng Refurbished Computer Classroom has given discarded electronic devices a new lease on life.

This achievement is underpinned by the collective participation of Lenovo's over 200 million members. Looking ahead to the next five years, Wang Chuandong acknowledged that enthusiasm alone is insufficient; it requires fertile ground, and AI serves as that foundation for Lenovo. "Integrating Lenovo's hybrid AI strategy advantages into public welfare is a natural extension of Lenovo's AI-for-all philosophy in the philanthropic sphere," he stated.

In April of this year, Lenovo delegated a 200,000 yuan charitable donation to the "Lexiang Enterprise Super Agent," which represented the company in contributing to the Alxa Ecological Foundation—marking the first time an intelligent agent acted as a "charity donor" for Lenovo. Wang outlined three future directions for the Lianmeng initiative: first, deploying AI to grassroots levels to deliver quality educational resources and AI literacy to more remote rural schools; second, making green initiatives smarter through the Lianmeng AI Ecological Forest and Lexiang Agent, tracking everything from tree growth to carbon sink assessment, ensuring all goodwill is visible, traceable, and amplified; and third, fostering continuous innovation to harness the energy of over 200 million members—"A single seed may only green a patch of soil, but 200 million seeds can transform a desert into a forest."
