On August 28, the first batch of flights carrying Fuyuan's signature local products, including cranberries, cold-water fish, and ecological rice, successfully departed from Fuyuan Dongji Airport in Jiamusi City, heading to Harbin and Chengdu. This marked the official commencement of cargo operations at Dongji Airport.

This milestone represents a crucial strategic move in Heilongjiang Province's efforts to optimize the transportation network along its eastern border and enhance its multimodal transport system combining water, land, and air routes. The launch effectively addresses the previous gap in air cargo capabilities along the province's eastern frontier, carrying significant strategic importance for expanding the province's northward opening-up channels and strengthening its trade advantages with Russia.

The activation of cargo services at Dongji Airport will further diversify Heilongjiang's transportation options for trade with Russia, establishing a dual-channel system of "water transport plus aviation." This provides an alternative air route for cross-border e-commerce between China and Russia, as well as for the import and export of fresh aquatic products.
