A recent initiative saw faculty and students from the Software College at Liaoning University of Technology take their expertise to the countryside. The "Wing Mu Fang Tian" practice team traveled to San Taizi Township to carry out a focused investigation into the agricultural technology needs of local farmers, with a particular emphasis on the application of drones for crop protection.

The team's core mission was to identify and help resolve the challenges of modernizing both facility agriculture and grain production sectors with contemporary farming techniques. San Taizi Township is a key production base for specialty fruits and vegetables in the region, making it an ideal location for this hands-on research.

Working alongside local agricultural technicians, the team from Liaoning University of Technology ventured directly into the villages and fields. Their research delved into several critical areas, including field crop structures, the scientific application of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, farmers' openness to adopting drone technology for plant protection, and their specific needs for agricultural training.

Beyond gathering data, the team provided on-site education to farmers. They gave live demonstrations and explanations about advanced planting technologies, such as drone-based field monitoring and variable-rate precision fertilization. This interactive approach allowed them to answer questions from the farmers directly, effectively building a bridge between the innovative energy of university students and the practical realities of rural farmland.

This initiative is set to empower the township's facility agriculture and specialty crop industries with digital and intelligent solutions, aiming to spur high-quality development across the region's agricultural landscape.
