The Federal Aviation Administration reported that an American Airlines flight experienced a tire blowout on the runway at Chicago O'Hare International Airport on the afternoon of the 26th while preparing for takeoff. This marks the fourth such incident at the airport within the past month.

According to reports, the aircraft involved was a Boeing 737-800 operating as flight 3280, bound for Charlotte, North Carolina. Shortly after departing the gate, the plane encountered a "tire issue" while taxiing. Passengers were subsequently deplaned and returned to the terminal, later departing on a replacement aircraft. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the incident.

Multiple US media outlets have noted that this is not an isolated event this month at O'Hare. On the 17th, American Airlines flight 386 suffered a tire blowout after landing at 2 p.m., and just hours later, United Airlines flight 739 also experienced a blowout upon landing. On the 13th, a United Airlines flight 455 had to abort its takeoff due to a tire failure before departure. Fortunately, none of these incidents resulted in any injuries.
