Horizon Robotics (09660.HK) released its interim results for the 2026 fiscal year on August 31, revealing a significant financial turnaround. For the first half of 2026, the company recorded customer contract revenue from continuing operations of RMB 2.055 billion, a year-on-year increase of 32.9%. Gross profit from continuing operations also climbed 32.9% to RMB 1.356 billion, while the comprehensive gross margin remained steady at 66.0%, consistent with the prior-year period.
In terms of profitability, the company reported a net profit of RMB 3.784 billion for the first six months of the year, successfully reversing a year-ago loss. This positive swing was attributed to factors including fluctuations in the fair value of financial liabilities and gains from the deconsolidation of DRobotics.
During the period, Horizon Robotics achieved a historic milestone in the basic assisted driving (ADAS) segment for self-owned brand passenger vehicles, capturing a market share of 50.02% for the first time. This figure is approximately twice that of its nearest competitor, solidifying its dominant position in this niche. Simultaneously, in the fiercely competitive high-end track, the company's market share for computing platforms supporting urban NOA functionalities rose from 17.9% a year earlier to 22.8%, elevating its ranking to second in the industry. Overall, its intelligent assisted driving computing platforms secured a 31.9% share of the combined market for self-owned brands in China, maintaining its top industry rank.
The company's commercial landscape is also expanding at an accelerated pace, notably opening up growth opportunities in the joint-venture brand segment. During the reporting period, solutions based on the Journey 6 series, developed with its joint venture Carizon (a collaboration with Volkswagen's CARIAD), entered the mass production stage. Furthermore, the Journey 6B chip achieved its global mass production debut in a GAC Toyota model, marking the first Japanese joint-venture production project for the company. In terms of overseas expansion, Horizon Robotics now covers the top six Chinese automakers by export volume and has secured design wins for over 60 export vehicle models.
Additionally, for entry-level scenarios, the cumulative design wins for the Journey 6B over its lifecycle have surpassed 20 million units, establishing it as the core computing foundation for affordable intelligent assisted driving. In its financial report, the company disclosed that development of its next-generation strategic system-on-a-chip (SoC), the Journey 7, is progressing smoothly, with tape-out expected in early Q2 2027. Furthermore, Horizon Robotics plans to launch an L4-level RoboTaxi pilot project with leading partners within 2026, aiming to fully validate and expand the application potential of its underlying technologies in high-level autonomous driving scenarios.
