Following the mudslide disaster in Gyirong County, Shigatse, Xizang, damaged roads, downed power lines, and severed communications have crippled the affected area.

In response, the Ministry of Emergency Management, together with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, immediately dispatched three Wing Loong UAVs to the disaster zone to carry out sustained emergency communication support and disaster reconnaissance missions.

As of 12:00 PM on August 31, the Wing Loong UAVs had accumulated over 130 flight hours and facilitated more than 3,900 communication calls.

Throughout the operation, the flight crews worked under extreme conditions, including high-altitude low temperatures, canyon turbulence, and unpredictable weather, to ensure the UAVs' stable performance.

Employing tactics such as "remote takeoff and landing from multiple locations," "long-distance wide-area transfers," and "simultaneous dual-aircraft operations," the team achieved rapid deployment and coordinated multi-aircraft support, establishing a vital emergency communication "lifeline" for the affected areas.

Additionally, the UAVs continued to conduct disaster reconnaissance, providing essential data for risk assessment and command decision-making.
