CM Bank (03968) has released its interim results for the 2026 fiscal year, reporting operating net income of RMB 178.135 billion, a 4.83% increase from the corresponding period last year. The bank's net profit attributable to shareholders reached RMB 76.445 billion, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 2.02%, with basic earnings per share standing at RMB 2.98.
During the reporting period, the bank achieved non-interest net income of RMB 66.113 billion, up 3.56% year-on-year. The breakdown shows net fee and commission income of RMB 39.855 billion, growing 5.99% annually. Within fee and commission income, wealth management fees surged 26.53% to RMB 16.192 billion, while asset management fees edged down 1.52% to RMB 5.370 billion. Bank card fee income declined 11.73% to RMB 6.374 billion, and settlement and clearing fees rose 4.72% to RMB 7.961 billion. Credit commitment and loan business commissions slipped 6.29% to RMB 2.145 billion, whereas custody business fees climbed 20.52% to RMB 3.142 billion. Other fee income contracted 16.42% to RMB 3.258 billion.
Other non-interest net income remained virtually flat at RMB 26.258 billion, ticking up just 0.08% year-on-year. Investment net gains fell sharply by 53.33% to RMB 9.438 billion, primarily due to the high base effect from bond and other financial instrument investment gains. Net fair value变动 gains surged by RMB 9.400 billion to RMB 4.581 billion, driven by increased valuation gains from bond investments and non-monetary fund investments. Net exchange gains grew 28.12% to RMB 1.859 billion, supported by higher foreign currency derivative trading results and monetary item conversion gains. Net income from other operations declined 9.12% to RMB 7.007 billion, mainly reflecting reduced revenues from CMB Financial Leasing's operating lease activities.
From a business segment perspective, retail banking generated non-interest net income of RMB 28.360 billion, up 11.47% year-on-year, representing 42.90% of the group's total. Wholesale banking contributed RMB 27.290 billion in non-interest net income, down 11.04% annually, accounting for 41.28% of the total. Other business segments delivered RMB 10.463 billion, a robust 35.57% increase year-on-year, benefiting from higher investment income at subsidiary institutions, making up 15.82% of the group's non-interest net income.
