USA Rare Earth Inc. (USAR) saw its stock soar 7.51% during intraday trading on Friday.
The significant upward movement followed the company's announcement of key leadership and operational developments. USA Rare Earth appointed Chaitan Kansal as its new Chief Commercial Officer, a newly created position. This strategic hire comes as the company transitions from development to active commercialization, marked by the recent start of Phase 1a commercial magnet production at its Stillwater, Oklahoma facility and a strategic investment in Carester, a France-based rare earth separation and processing company.
CEO Barbara Humpton stated the appointment reflects the strategic importance of building world-class commercial capabilities to secure long-term partnerships and position the company as a leading rare earth supplier in the Western world. Kansal brings over 25 years of experience in critical minerals and specialty chemicals, having previously served as Chief Commercial Officer at Ecobat and Chief Marketing Officer at Albemarle.
