The E Fund White Spirits ETF (03189) has surged more than 5%. As of writing, it is up 5.24% to HKD 1.164, with a turnover of HKD 2.7011 million.
On the news front, Kweichow Moutai Co.,Ltd. issued a price increase announcement on July 17. Effective from 00:00 on July 18, the retail price of its Feitian Moutai on the iMoutai platform has been adjusted from RMB 1,539 per bottle to RMB 1,639 per bottle, marking a 6.5% increase. The contract price for dealer channels has been raised from RMB 1,269 per bottle to RMB 1,369 per bottle, a 7.9% increase.
Notably, this represents the third price adjustment for Moutai products this year and the second price hike specifically for its core product, the 500ml 53-degree Feitian Moutai.
Kaiyuan Securities believes that Moutai's price increase, combined with retail sales growth exceeding expectations, presents a favorable opportunity for sector recovery. The white spirits sector is currently in a valuation bottom range, with channel inventories continuing to decline and wholesale prices stabilizing. It is anticipated that the industry is highly likely to experience a recovery in the second half of the year.
It is reported that the E Fund White Spirits ETF tracks the CSI White Spirits Index, covering leading companies such as Kweichow Moutai Co.,Ltd., Shanxi Fenjiu, Luzhou Laojiao, Wuliangye, and Yanghe Brewery. It is currently the only white spirits-themed ETF in the Hong Kong market, providing investors with a scarce tool for one-click allocation to China's core white spirits assets.
