Central Bank Reports August Net Injection of 50 Billion Yuan via Treasury Bond Operations in Open Market

On September 2, the People's Bank of China disclosed the liquidity provision figures for various central bank instruments during August 2026. In the category of central bank lending, the medium-term lending facility recorded a net reduction of 100 billion yuan, while pledged supplementary lending saw a net decrease of 52.1 billion yuan. Meanwhile, other structural monetary policy tools contributed a net injection of 65 billion yuan.

For open market operations, overnight and 7-day reverse repurchase agreements resulted in a net withdrawal of 641.5 billion yuan. However, treasury bond transactions in the open market added a net 50 billion yuan to the system. Additionally, central treasury cash management provided a net injection of 70 billion yuan.
