On August 29th, County Party Secretary Fan Deheng conducted a field inspection of the integrated healthcare-elderly care facility project in townships. He emphasized the need to deeply implement a people-centered development philosophy, earnestly carry out the municipal party committee and government's directives, continuously improve grassroots service infrastructure, and optimize resource allocation to enhance medical and elderly care services, better meeting the diverse needs of the public.
Secretary Fan visited Wangji Township and Xinyuan Township to review the site planning and construction progress of combined township health centers and nursing homes, and listened to work reports on the initiative. He pointed out that efforts should be made to consolidate existing site resources, coordinate overall planning and design, and accelerate the construction of township health centers to effectively connect medical services with elderly care, thereby improving the practicality and service capacity of these projects.
During the inspection, Fan stressed that the integrated development mechanism for township health centers and nursing homes should be further refined. This includes implementing classified operational models such as public-funded basic coverage and public construction with private operation, while accelerating efforts to address gaps in public healthcare and upgrading the elderly care service system. He called for unified coordination of project construction, staffing, and facility configuration to actively explore viable pathways for shared facilities, integrated services, and mutual resource utilization, better achieving the convergence of medical care, rehabilitation, and elderly support.
Fan also highlighted the importance of balancing construction with management, establishing sound long-term operational support mechanisms, and clarifying responsibilities for all parties involved in co-construction and co-operation. This would enable residents to access more convenient and high-quality medical and elderly care services right at their doorsteps. Deputy County Mayor Zhang Lianma participated in the inspection.
