Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, and Peru have signed a joint declaration to deepen cooperation on strategic mineral resources. These resource-rich nations are positioning the region as a reliable supplier of critical minerals for the global energy transition and artificial intelligence sectors.

According to a statement from the Chilean government, the mining authorities of the four countries signed the joint declaration on Friday in Santiago. The agreement aims to promote responsible investment while strengthening technical and institutional collaboration among the participating nations.

The four countries will explore cooperation in geological exploration, mining policy formulation, regulatory frameworks, and workforce training programs. Additionally, they plan to seek technical and financial support from multilateral institutions to advance their shared objectives.

The signatories also intend to facilitate investment across the entire regional mining value chain, from extraction through to processing and downstream applications. This initiative marks a significant step toward establishing a coordinated approach to critical mineral development in South America.
