Weekend Transactions for Top 10 Hong Kong Housing Estates Rise 25% Week-on-Week to 5 Deals

As July begins, several new housing projects in Hong Kong are preparing for launch. Despite the current peak summer travel season, the secondary market is in a state of readiness.

According to statistics from a major property agency's branches, the top 10 secondary market indicator housing estates recorded approximately 5 transactions this weekend (July 11-12). This represents a 25% increase compared to the roughly 4 deals recorded last weekend, though the market has now seen single-digit weekend transaction volumes for six consecutive weeks, indicating a degree of stabilization at a low level.

When calculated based on the top 15 housing estates, the past weekend saw about 6 transactions, a 50% increase from the 4 deals recorded the previous week, showing a more pronounced recovery trend.

A senior director at the property agency commented that the current consolidation in secondary market activity is a normal period of adjustment. With several new projects actively preparing for launch, market sentiment is expected to be reignited, stimulating the release of pent-up purchasing power, which will also benefit the secondary market.
