Oil Tanker Hit by Projectiles in the Strait of Hormuz, UK Maritime Agency Reports

A commercial tanker was struck by three unidentified projectiles while transiting the Strait of Hormuz on August 31, according to a report from the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).

The vessel reported the attack upon completing its outbound passage through the strait, at a location approximately 17 nautical miles east of Khasab, Oman.

No casualties or environmental damage have been reported so far, and the relevant authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

The UKMTO has issued an advisory to ships in the area, urging them to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity immediately.
