Recently, a woman surnamed Zhou took to social media to express her gratitude towards Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport and its employee, Wang Jin. Zhou, originally from Xi'an, Shaanxi, had been living in Hangzhou with her parents.

On the evening of August 13, Zhou and her parents received the devastating news that a close relative had passed away. They urgently needed to travel to Xi'an to handle the funeral arrangements. Rushing to pack their bags, they hurried to the airport, hoping to catch the last flight to Xi'an that evening.

However, overwhelmed by their profound grief, Zhou's parents were unable to complete their mobile check-in procedures in time and consequently could not pass through security. As the family stood in a state of helplessness, Wang Jin, who was on duty at the security check guidance post, noticed something was amiss. He quickly approached to inquire about their situation, and upon learning the details, immediately took action.

Wang Jin made multiple trips to the check-in counter to negotiate on their behalf. He then guided Zhou to the nearest security gate and, after coordinating with his colleagues, arranged for her to go through the priority screening. Unfortunately, the boarding gate had already closed, and Zhou ultimately missed her flight.

According to Wang Jin's recollection, it was very late at that point, and most staff had already left for the day. Rebooking could only be done over the phone with the airline, a rather complex procedure. Wang Jin stayed by their side throughout, making call after call and confirming details until nearly midnight. He finally secured them seats on the earliest available flight, which departed at 6:20 a.m. and landed at 8:00 a.m. the following day. Afterwards, he escorted the family to a nearby hotel, repeatedly reminding them of the check-in time and other important details for the next morning.

Having been on the night shift, Wang Jin only finished work at 3 a.m. He said, "I was still worried, so I decided to just skip sleep." At 5 a.m. the next morning, Wang Jin was back, accompanying the Zhou family to the terminal and only leaving after seeing them safely through the security area.

Beyond providing guidance and assistance, Wang Jin offered words of comfort throughout their journey. He explained that his empathy stemmed from a personal experience: last March, when his own grandmother passed away suddenly, he was away from home and couldn't make it back in time. "I didn't get to see her one last time, and I still regret it deeply. In that moment, I felt their pain and wanted to do everything I could to help," Wang Jin shared. He humbly added that helping the Zhou family was simply a small act of kindness, stating, "Any of our frontline staff at the airport would have stepped up to help in such a situation. I hope that people coming to Hangzhou can feel the city's warmth and the hospitality of the airport. We want to show genuine care and human touch."
