AMCO United Holding Limited (AMCO United) reported a sharp turnaround for the six months ended 30 June 2026, posting profit attributable to shareholders of HK$36.37 million versus HK$1.15 million a year earlier. The rebound was driven chiefly by HK$38.76 million in realised and unrealised gains from listed equity investments, compared with HK$3.45 million a year ago.
Revenue rose 29.5 % year on year to HK$35.07 million, propelled by an HK$8.28 million increase in the Medical Products Business, which contributed 86.6 % of Group turnover. Gross profit, however, fell 39.3 % to HK$5.10 million as gross margin narrowed to 14.6 % from 30.9 %, reflecting higher cost of sales.
Segment performance was mixed: • Medical Products Business generated HK$30.36 million revenue and HK$0.08 million profit, down from HK$3.29 million a year earlier. • Money Lending revenue slipped 7.8 % to HK$4.71 million, yet the segment swung to a HK$2.63 million profit from a HK$1.30 million loss. Loan receivables stood at HK$120.35 million, with average interest rates between 6 % and 12 %. • Securities Investment delivered HK$38.74 million profit versus a HK$3.40 million loss last year, reflecting a HK$38.76 million fair-value gain on a 31-stock Hong Kong portfolio valued at HK$150.16 million. • No revenue was recorded from the Plastic Products Business during the period.
Tight cost control helped reduce distribution costs to zero (1H25: HK$2.50 million) and cut administrative expenses 10.9 % to HK$5.69 million. Finance costs were steady at HK$1.80 million, linked to outstanding unlisted bonds of HK$24.90 million (HK$4.00 million due July 2026; HK$20.90 million due March 2030).
Balance-sheet metrics improved: net assets increased to HK$155.59 million (31 December 2025: HK$119.24 million); gearing fell to 9.2 % from 14.8 %; cash and bank balances rose to HK$10.61 million from HK$7.21 million; and the current ratio strengthened to 3.3x (end-2025: 2.6x).
AMCO United maintained its outstanding share count at 967.55 million and did not recommend an interim dividend. The company employed 26 staff at period-end and confirmed no material contingent liabilities or post-period events.
